Universal Stone is a proudly female-owned and operated Canadian business that is on a mission to provide a more eco-friendly multi-surface cleaning product.
Universal Stone brought WebMarketers onboard to build a site that would act as a sales tool to support their new Home Depot distribution channel. Since they were working with an existing branding partner (Slingshot), we had to transfer their new and playful product packaging to a digital environment.
Throughout the design process, we also had to find a way to help them shift the focus of their online presence from wholesale sales to direct-to-consumer sales.
Since we were dealing with an eCommerce business, good web design was crucial. Website visitors needed to be able to easily navigate the website to learn about the product and add it to their shopping cart.
Our design team started with wireframes focused on user experience and embraced a bold colour scheme that matched their branding and packaging. We also came up with a new tagline “Clean the World Green” as an additional way to emphasize their brand identity.
Our team also wanted to place an emphasis on the appealing visuals the product naturally creates. We wanted Phantom Productions to work with Universal Stone to update all the visual assets produce a video to showcase the product in action, and create a motion graphic to bring the logo to life!
Our design team got to work on a mood board that featured new typography and a bold colour scheme using green and yellow to match their branding. As our designers created the homepage there was a focus on presenting a layout that showcased the owner, Jogi since she was well known for her presence at trade shows.
To embrace the playfulness of the brand, we incorporated “foam” subtly throughout the design using bubbles that “float” up as your scroll. One important part of the website was to place an emphasis on the 3-in-1 features of the product, clean, polish, and protect, to educate customers on how to use the product and its benefits.
The development stage of this project had a few unique features our team needed to execute perfectly to tie the whole user experience together. The high-quality footage shot by Phantom Productions was used in the header and throughout the website to create full-screen video sliders that create a captivating user experience.
Our developers built our custom Shopify theme to include all the engaging and playful functionalities that the designers came up with. They integrated the “Find Us” store locator so that customers could easily find a brick-and-mortar store close by that carries Universal Stone products.
We also included an Instagram Feed integration in the footer so that it was easy for customers to connect with the brand on their social media platforms.
