Lumberjaxe is an axe-throwing hall with two locations; one here in Ottawa, and one in Athens, GA.
WebMarketers were tasked with designing and developing a website around their well-thought-out brand. They also wanted a marketing campaign that would help grow their business with a younger audience in two different countries.
When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, the constant shutdowns posed an added challenge. During the times when Lumberjaxe could operate, they needed to be as busy as possible to make up for some of the lost revenue.
Since they have an eCommerce component, a custom Shopify website would allow them to manage bookings and sales. To accommodate the need to target two locations in separate countries, we built two sites on the same domain; one optimized for Canada, and the other for Athens.
Combined with strong marketing campaigns, video, and social media, we aimed to help Lumberjaxe thrive during unprecedented times.
Our approach to the website design was to embrace the fun and laid-back atmosphere of the Lumberjaxe locations. Our designers carefully incorporated the Lumberjaxe characters into the website, with details like chipped wood buttons that would allow visitors to experience the brand digitally.
We embraced the bright red colour scheme and used as many images of the actual team and location as possible, instead of stock images which we noticed were favoured by many competitors.
Our team developed the custom website design on Shopify and seamlessly integrated booking tools for both locations. Website visitors would easily be able to book axe-throwing experiences at their local Lumberjaxe.
