The
Challenge.

Habico Construction is a new residential development company based in Gatineau, QC. The owners have another company, Gamble Construction, that focuses solely on commercial projects. Their residential construction company, Habico Construction, will be a full-service operation that provides clients with custom/model homes, permits, inspections, project management, and more.

WebMarketers were brought in to help establish Habico Construction as a high-end, elite company by creating their brand identity and designing and developing a custom website.

The
Strategy.

Building a brand from the ground up felt similar to building a custom home (at least we imagine it was!), we wanted to get every last detail just right. Our creative director, Phil, worked with our client to build a brand identity (name and logo included) that perfectly reflected the company they are building. The logo features deliberate relationships between line weights to create an architectural dynamic when looking at the logo as a whole.

When it came to the website, we wanted to include the right UI/UX features to make it an engaging and elite experience for the end user. Other considerations we needed to keep in mind included being bi-lingual friendly and the needed to seamlessly incorporate educational content into the design. Once we completed the branding process, it was time to transform our vision into a custom website.

The
Design.

Our web design team approached the design with two key factors in mind; the look and feel of the website needed to emphasize their high-quality work, and it needed to be designed with a focus on their model home catalogue.

In our designs, we used a combination of serif and sans serif typography and abstract colours to create a modern, contemporary aesthetic.

The flow of the homepage was designed around showcasing the specifications of their model homes catalogue, then narrowed into custom homes and inventory as the page loads.

04.

The
Development.

Once our designs were complete, our development team got started on building the website. The homepage of the website features horizontal scrolling and hover effects to showcase the different housing models they offer. While competitors tend to favour a standard grid layout to present their projects, a horizontal scrolling slider creates a thoughtful experience for the end user that is much easier to interact with.

Other key development features include the inventory management system to make it easy for Habico to add and update the model home catalogue as they expand their business.
