Kevin Churchill’s Bio
About Kevin
Kevin Churchill grew up in Toronto, and spent 8 years living in Ottawa completing a BA and MA as well as playing and (assistant) coaching with the Carleton University Men’s Basketball team. He now lives in Toronto with his partner Samantha, and they are very excited about their upcoming move to Halifax sometime in the Spring or Summer.
Kevin has worked as a coach, as a director in the non-profit world, and as the operator of a small business. Across these diverse fields, he has become an expert on designing and implementing customer journeys (both in-person and digitally) that promote the acquisition and retention of new clients, and he has grown teams that focus on delivering high-quality products and services. Digital marketing has been an important part of each of his roles over the past 5+ years, and he is excited to be working in the field full-time and helping others overcome some of the challenges he experienced in his previous roles.
Q & A with Kevin
What are some of your hobbies?
Kevin spends his free time playing basketball, working out, reading, eating his partner Samantha’s incredible cooking, cooking food that is not as good as Sam’s, taking photos, staying currently with the news, and occasionally playing board games, Magic the Gathering, or Skyrim. He loves a good fantasy-based game or book.
What are some places you’ve travelled or lived in?
I’ve been lucky enough to travel to the East and West coasts of both Canada and the US, to the UK, Ireland, Portugal, Italy, Spain, Cuba, Guatemala, Nicaragua, and Mexico. Next up: maybe Columbia, Costa Rica, or Southeast Asia, whenever we can travel again.
Where would somebody typically find you on a weekend?
Pre-pandemic, you’d find me getting a basketball game in, enjoying beers with the guys I just beat on the court, spending a day preparing an extravagant meal for whoever we’re hosting for dinner that weekend, and maybe checking out a new or favourite restaurant in the city. During the pandemic? I’m at home. All the time.
What’s your favourite beverage?
Depends on my mood! Sometimes there’s nothing better than a freshly poured pint of beer, other times you’ll find me with a paper plane or an old-fashioned.
Any outstanding achievements or awards that would impress us?
Well I’ve won more national championship than anybody else here at WebMarketers, and Kyle, Cam, and Tyson have all won four. And I also once won and then turned down a $100,000 federal grant to do my PhD.
